Great “First Electric” toothbrush for 6-10 year olds,
I really like this electric toothbrush, funnily enough I have twins who are using this toothbrush also. I like the small head which I think gets lost on most toothbrush designs. Yet I’m sure that is just a personal preference that I have projected onto my kids. I also like the suction cup holder that keeps the toothbrush standing upright on our vanity. However, I did not give this product 5 stars only because I am now in search of the “replacement heads” and can’t seem to find the G U M brand replacements or equivalents. I just bought a 5 pack of Target brand heads that I was positve would work, nope. Luckily my older two use the braun electric and they can be used on those. So one star off for now and maybe, if I can’t find the heads, I’ll have to knock this product down to three or two. Nothing I hate more than having to throw away and then replace these kinds of items just because you can’t replace the replaceable parts!

|Health Hazard! Disgusted with what I saw.,
The brush should get 5 stars for cleaning teeth and -5 for health hazard it poses.
My 2 year old is not a fan of brushing so I needed an electric toothbrush to do what I needed to get her teeth clean after she used her Elmo brush. It seemed to work very well and cleaned her teeth. The speed is appropriate for small children, there isn’t too much vibration and she began tolerating brushing of her teeth. After several months of using it the top part of it popped off and that’s when I just what I was dealing with and threw the brush into the trash.
The water gets into the main compartment of the toothbrush and stays there. You can’t completely open it to dry so after a few months of use I was horrified to see the inside was black when the top came off accidentally. It was mold! Black, ugly mold! I use an electric toothbrush and know it requires cleaning because where there is water and moisture, there is the possibility of mold but this was beyond anything I could have imagined. So even if the battery lasts, you have to replace it every few weeks to prevent putting something moldy in your child’s mouth.
Looking for a better solution and contemplating buying the Philips Sonicare for Kids, something my dentist recommends.
